“Meg, Arizona
There’s no better place for a girlfriend getaway than Cayman! For a week’s respite from our busy lives, five BFF’s from childhood chose Cayman as our retreat, and we weren’t disappointed. From languid lunches & girl talk in the shade & sun at Harbour Heights, to sipping libations at our favorite spots, to shopping in Georgetown; from snorkeling and scuba diving to dinners and dancing under the sensational setting sun, we were captive to the island rhythm and the call of the turquoise sea. Good friends, lush surroundings, and accommodations that were superb! What could be better?”
Activities:
- Walk the Beach – all 7 miles of it (or less if you like!)
- Enjoy the Water: the possibilities are endless! parasailing, jet ski, snorkeling (we can set you up with someone who will pick you up right in front of Harbour Heights for your own private ½ day excursion); swim with the stingrays, submarine ride
- Shopping: Downtown George Town has every kind of shop imaginable! Several Shopping Centers too!
- Tour the Island: Rent a car, drive around the island; it’s safe & easy! Stop at the “blowholes”; lunch at The Lighthouse, visit Pedro’s Castle, go to Rum Point for a cool afternoon drink, visit the Botanical Gardens or guided Eco-Tours of the Mangroves.

"We’ve been to Grand Cayman many times with the entire family and have been to many of the key sights. This past trip though was different as it was the first time I had been on a vacation with just my oldest daughter. My daughter was in her second year of medical school – where time is pretty scarce. Getting away for a carefree week was already special, but having that time in Grand Cayman made it even more so. Our days were spent snorkeling at nearby Cemetery Reef, poolside at Harbor Heights, lounging on gorgeous 7 mile beach, taking the local buses into Georgetown, or walking across West Bay Road to Neptunes Restaurant.
Our highlight was taking the bus to the Botanic Garden on the east side. We felt like that was the deal of the week! For only $5 a bus took us through the scenic east end and came back to greet us after touring the fabulous gardens. Looking back, I realize now that our time together was more than a vacation; it was a special time in our lives that we will never forget. Now our other daughters in college are asking… when do they get their week in Grand Cayman with just Mom! How cool is that?"
